About Your Captain

Captain Mike Long holds a USCG 100-Ton Merchant Mariner Credential and has been fishing these waters for over 40 years. He was introduced to saltwater fishing by his Dad and Mom. His Mom is a native of England and during WWII she would hide under a blanket while fishing the rivers of England to avoid detection by the German bomber pilots. She shared her love of fishing with Mike and they spent many days fishing the bay. Eventually, the excitement of pursuing pelagics soon took over and Mike couldn't get offshore often enough!

Mike's first boat, named Bubba Jean in honor of  his Dad and Mom, soon developed a solid reputation of catching fish. It also served as a great platform on which new long-lasting friendships were made.

Bubba Jean 28 is an expansion of that platform as Captain Mike moves forward offering memorable, safe excursions in our waters to a wider audience.
